Madonna is giving a cool half million dollars to her home land Italy for relief of the earthquake that rattled the country. Madonna has promised around $500,000 to victims families says mayor Fernando Caparso of Pacentro. Pacentro is the hometown of Madonnas grandparents. The small town was shaken pretty badly in the earthquake and Italy does not have the financial means to help all areas affected. The Major was deeply moved by Madonnas willingness to help their town saying that “…she was a great singer, a great rock star and an intelligent woman, with this gesture she has become a great woman,” he said.

The King of Pop is putting many items from Neverland Ranch up for sale. Over 10 semi trucks worth of goods is on display in Hollywood before the auction is set to begin. Some of Micheal Jackson’s most famous outfits, jewelry, furniture and sales awards are getting ready to be auctioned off. There are reports that Micheal is not too happy about some of the items and is trying to block the sales of certain items. Micheal Jackson has been in financial trouble ever since his trial where he was accused of molesting a 13 year old boy at the ranch.

American Idol fans will remember when Green Day performed John Lennon’s “Working Class Hero” during the 2007 season finale. What they may not know is that Green Day almost didn’t get to perform the song at all. Show producers were worried that Green Day would belt out the profanity found in the original lyrics and did not want the band to perform at all. Eventually the Green Day band members were able to convince the show that they were in fact professionals and ended up pre-recording the song to take the shows worries away. When asked if they would be back again they only had this to say. “Oh, no way. Not in a million years,” said frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.

During a recent concert in Vancouver Britney Spears walked off the stage in a huff stating that the venue was to smoky. The audience was shocked to see her leave the stage and even more shocked to find out that she was blaming cigarette and marijuana smoke as the culprit. After a 40 minute delay she returned to finish off the rest of her concert but was not as enthusiastic as the start of her performance. As the concert ended Britney Spears was thanking crowd and she finished off by saying “Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don’t smoke weed!”

Gary Barlow of pop group Take That has recently said that Robbie Williams will not be rejoining his old group. Gary said the band is happy the way they are and do not want to mess with what they have. Robbie William was quoted as saying he believed he would be rejoining Take That quite quickly. Robbie Williams has since denied the report that he wanted to rejoin the band saying “The boys have their thing going on and so do I…” Robbie Williams left Take That in 1995 and went on to a successful solo career. The rest of Take That spilt up the following year but has launched a comeback with their hit album “Patience”.

Pop icon Madonna is still trying to adopt more children from Africa. Recently she tried to adopt a four year old girl named Mercy James but local South African courts have denied the adoption. No reason was given to the media and Madonna is staying quiet on the matter as she goes through the appeal process. Madonna says she wants to help as many African children as she can so that they may one day return to Africa and be of help to the poor countries. She wants to give her adopted children the best health care possible and the best education she can so that they may grow up to be leaders
